Plugins

The plugins the packages ship.

The effects of the console, as plugins you can load in any host that speaks LV2 or CLAP. You do not need the console to use them.

01

Nineteen effects, two formats.

The omx-plugins package carries every effect twice: as CLAP, for CLAP hosts, and as LV2, for LV2 hosts. The LV2 build also carries a MOD GUI.

The processing inside each one is the console's own, so a plugin sounds the same in a host as on the desk. Each plugin is described once, and its CLAP parameters, its LV2 ports and its MOD GUI come from that one description, so they cannot disagree.

The set: chorus, comp, deesser, delay, drive, eq8, eq16, eq32, flanger, geq, keyed-gate, limiter, phaser, pitch, reverb, rotary, strip, transient and tremolo. Every plugin, with its CLAP id, its LV2 URI and its parameter ranges, is listed in the omx-plugins README.

02

Install.

On Fedora, install the OpenMixer release package, which adds the repository and its key, then install:

sudo dnf install https://www.openmixer.org/rpm/openmixer-release.noarch.rpm
sudo dnf install omx-plugins

On Debian (bookworm or trixie) and Raspberry Pi OS, install the OpenMixer release package, which adds the repository and its key, then install:

curl -fsSLO https://www.openmixer.org/deb/openmixer-release.deb && sudo apt install ./openmixer-release.deb
sudo apt update
sudo apt install omx-plugins

The packages and the repository metadata are signed.

03

Which package, and where the files go.

omx-plugins installs both formats. To take only the one your host loads, install omx-plugins-clap or omx-plugins-lv2 instead.

The files land where hosts look without configuration: CLAP plugins in /usr/lib/clap on every distribution, LV2 plugins in /usr/lib64/lv2 on Fedora and /usr/lib/lv2 on Debian.

Rescan plugins in your host, then look for the omx plugins.

The package names for headers, development files and the other pieces are in the names reference.

openmixer
